LIFE Montado-Adapt is a project to promote the adaptation of the Montado/Dehesa system in Portugal and Spain, which main objective is to mitigate the consequences of climate change, increasing the sustainability at an economic, social and environmental level.
We support the owners and managers of land in the regions of Alentejo (Portugal), Extremadura and Andalusia (Spain), in the implementation of theIntegrated Land Use (ILU). The System is already underway in pilot areas, which will also support all stakeholders in the implementation of the System on its own properties.
The LIFE Montado-Adapt project is an initiative co-financed by the
European Union throught the LIFE Program 2014-2020, Climate Action
Subprogramme, which supports projects that develop innovative ways
of responding to the challenges of climate change in Europe.
